2003: The Beginning

Two friends strike up a conversation with two Brazilian women. The women told them they miss "agua de coco" from home. When they learned the hype for coconut water in Brazil was real, they hatched a plan to bring it mainstream in the U.S.

2010: building buzz

As the excitement grew around coconut water, Vita Coco became #1 in households, attracting super-fans and celebrity investors who catapulted the brand to stardom.

2014: coconuts for good

We're helping to positively impact coconut farming communities around the world through The Vita Coco Project®, including launching our newest initiative, Seedlings for Sustainability.

2021: Solidifying our Commitment

After years of engaging communities along our supply chain, The Vita Coco Company became a Certified B Corporation, meeting rigorous standards for social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

2023: Going Carbon Neutral

We took a step towards decarbonization by ensuring that all shipping on our website orders are carbon neutral and offering the opportunity to match our contributions to make shipping climate positive.
